The train will travel about 1300 km from Beijing to Shanghai in about 5 hours. That is about the same distance as New York to Chicago, currently handled by the Lake Shore Limited in 19 hours.

the speed test actualy started from November 26, the trainsets, includes a CRH2C, which is a upgrade version of Kawasaki's CRH2A, as a track inspection train, CSR's CRH380AL and Siemens/CNR's CRH380BL.

the 380km/h test, which is the designed top operation speed, achieved by November 26, top speed reached 452 km/h by November 27, 455.5 km/h by November 28,and exceeded 480 km/h by November 29.

during the December 3 test, the CRH380AL actually traveled 220 km in 34 minutes, at average speed of 388 km/h (209 mph), speed of 480+ km/h lasts for 7 minutes, that means it at least traveld 56.7 km (35.23 miles)under such a speed. shows how well the rail constructed .

209 mph equals 336 km/h. 388 km/h equals 241 mph. Which is it?
probably the second one... since the primary unit is km/h. it was probably a conversion error.

1 mile = 1.6 kilometres , so around 242 miles per hour .
here are some conversions that may be easy to remember
50mph = 80 kph
100 mph = 160 kph
150 mph = 240kph
200 mph = 320kph
250 mph = 400 kph .

or.. for every 5 miles, it's 8 kilometers.... that works too....
