Interesting that a service that never started can be discontinued.... As posted on this board a few months ago, the paperwork for the abandonment of the line was already filed.

Merely a formality- NY&E as the lessor has to do a filing with the government to tell them when they're "no long longer not running trains" anymore. Then that opens proceedings for abandonment and removal of the line by the owner (CSX).
