We are traveling by car from southern US to Toronto May15 to take the VIA Rail to Vancouver and back. We have noted no parking at Union Station. Any suggestions for long term parking, not too far away (we are older!)? Thanks.

That's a tough one - any parking in the vicinity of Union Station would be quite pricey. My suggestion would be to park somewhere outside of downtown, then grab a cab to Union.

Many of the hotels in the vicinity of Toronto Pearson Airport have long term parking at low- or no-cost to guests (obviously intended for departing airline passengers). From there a cab to Union Station would be much cheaper than trying to find parking anywhere near the station, just as chriskay suggests.

Or take the TTC “Airport Rocket” to the Kipling Subway station then change at St. George station for Union. Service is very frequent……takes 1 hour and the fare is $3 .

Thanks for the tips. It should be a great adventure.

My suggestion would be depending on how long you plan to stay in Toronto? are you visiting family or friends Or staying at a hotel in toronto? in the city or the surrounding GTA area? if so Best to park your vehicle at there residence ( if with family and friends) and take TTC if your in the city or GO Transit if in the GTA area (burbs). most GO transit Buses and trains go directly to Union station so you may hop off one ( GO transit) and hop on the other (VIA Rail).

Finding parking near Union station as it has been said is quite pricey and almost imposable , explicitly during the holidays and summer vacation.
