Question: how will recent changes in business taxes affect the NYAR? Specifically, I'm wondering about the 4.3 cent tax on diesel (initiated by Clinton) that was repealed by Bush and the tax credit for rehab work on tracks.
The tax credit probably won't help them, because they don't own the track, they lease it. This has been the problem with getting any funding for rehabilitation on the track - they don't own it, and LIRR uses the funding for their own needs.
