The MBTA has released the schedule for Christmas and New Years
Commuter Rail
Christmas and New Year's Service
Christmas Weekend
On Friday, December 24, 2004, Commuter Rail will operate on a Friday schedule.
On Saturday, December 25, 2004, Commuter Rail will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Please note, there is no service provided on the Needham Line, Stoughton Line and the Fairmount Line on Sundays and when a Sunday schedule is in effect.

New Year's Weekend
On New Year's Eve, Friday, December 31, 2004, Commuter Rail will operate on a normal Friday schedule with a few modifications and extra service provided as detailed below.
There will be no charge for fare after 8PM New Year's Eve.
On Saturday, January 1, 2005, Commuter Rail will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Please note, there is no service provided on the Needham Line, Stoughton Line and the Fairmount Line on Sundays and when a Sunday schedule is in effect.

Modifications of schedules on New Year's Eve (Friday, December 31, 2004):
Haverhill Line: Train #245 departing Boston at 11:59 p.m. will only operate to Reading – not to Haverhill.
Fitchburg Line: Train #401 on the Fitchburg line departing at 12:10 a.m. will only operate to South Acton – not to Fitchburg.
Newburyport/Rockport Line: Train #145 departing at 12:10 a.m. will only operate to Beverly – not to Rockport.

All trains will make all stops along the way

12:45 a.m. - Newburyport
1:00 a.m. and *2:00 a.m. - Rockport (*Newburyport connection at Beverly)
