Bah! Humbug!

Item in today's Trib, sect 2 page 3 (Near West ed.):

"Santa get ax as CTA grounds holiday train"

I guess this is CTA's way of letting the public know they mean it when they say service will be cut 20% because the IL legislature said NO to a funding increase. But to fire Santa? Bet Frank Kreusi gets a lump of coal (or maybe something that looks like coal) in his Christmas stocking!

Personally, I'm glad to see they've canceled the Santa's Express. I'm sure if they did run it, the CTA would find some way to bill Metra for the expenses.

AFAIK, guys, the holiday train was reinstated just a few days after the cancellation was announced...
