The proposed lines:

Queen Creek (southeast) - Phoenix - Buckeye (west)
Chandler (southeast) - Phoenix - Wittmann (northwest)

Nothing in the northeast, however.

Regrettable, but that's because there have never been any rail lines into the northeast valley. There are 2 reasons for that:
1) There was pretty much nothing there for decades, hence little reason to build a line
2) Heading toward Scottsdale, the elevation climbs. Not a lot, but significantly enough to make a railroad unfeasible due to the grades.

The Grand Avenue line has been suggested for a very, very long time; it's a truly excellent candidate, as the avenue is really very heavily built up (for Phoenix). Hope they're successful.
