I fell off my chair when I saw this one! http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=266702 One might think that with all those SD40-2s that have been sidelined in the past months, the MMA "MIGHT" be tempted of getting rid of those old and tired C30-7s? Especially the green ones...

Thats fantastic considering I was under the impression this unit would be used for the Poland project. Now that its running I cant wait to catch it in action. Perhaps the other SD40's will jump out of Derby on some freights.

Unless there has been a major change in motive power philosophy at MMA, I don't think the GEs will be going anywhere, at least not in large numbers. A few of the basket cases might get cut up, but I haven't heard anything about MMA getting rid of them all together. Granted, there are a lot of SD40-2s available for sale or lease right now, but many of them are every bit as tired and worn out as MMA's C30s. And let's not forget that a C30 gets about 5%-10% better fuel economy than an SD40-2.

So this brings the number of paint schemes on MMA to, what, 900? :-D

It reminds me of the BAR "state of maine" potato boxcars. Much as I like Mr. Burkhardt's maroon/creme, the ex-BCOL r/w/b fits perfect here.

is the 758 still the only SD-40 on MMA?
