There is a series of articles on the Erie Railroad's EMD-designed diesel shop at Marion, Ohio, beginning in the January 2009 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman magazine. It includes a photo tour of the shop interior taken when it was first opened, and exterior photos taken on its completion and when additions to the shop were being done.

The Marion Diesel Shop buildings are still there, used as a freight car repair facility since shortly after the start of Conrail. They have been added to and altered somewhat to suit their current use.
