ES44DC, ES44AC, and ES44AH???

CSXT 762 passed through here yesterday leading an eastbound coal drag. It does have the lightning bolt under the numbers.

The older CSX ES44AC's numbered 700-839 have the numberboards located on the nose, as seen in this photo..

Notice how the numberboards are positioned up high on CSX ES44AC's numbered 840 and all the way up to 850 thus far..

Any ideas to why they're positioned differently? Just curious..

They apear to be getting the same body style as the UP and BNSF units, with the exception of the dynamic brake vents. As well as having the high number boards, the units also feature the 4 windows on the side of the cab and the horizontally mounted rear headlight. My guess would be that standardizing the design the design of the locos will help to cut down on costs. I have also heard that the newer CN units feature a standard style windshield on the cabs rather than the EMD looking "teardrop" style that they have used on their GE widecabs.
