San Diego is using DMUs on its 22-mile "Sprinter" line connecting Oceanside-San Marcos-Vista-Escondido. Interchange at Oceanside with FRA-rail commuter "Coaster" to downtown San Diego or "Metrolink" to LA and points north. San Diego's DMUs operate through the day while freight service uses the same line at night.

Thanks Otto,

The SPRINTER saga continues. Its not suppost to open until March 08... 3 months behind schedule. Its built and rolling stock is ready but there are so called engineering and signaling questions... what they are, I'm not sure but I'll update when I get the scoop.
