A new Station Inn style Bed and Breakfast will be opening at Marysville, Pa near the Rockville Bridge on the site of the former Bairs Tackleshop along River Road just South of Rockville Bridge . I know the new owner so I have been able to follow the renovations as they have been progressing. The overall renovations are about 85-90 precent completed. The place will feature 10 guestrooms, all on the first floor....Rooms will vary in size with smaller rooms holding 2 beds and larger rooms holding between 3 and 4 with rollaways. Three of the rooms will have exterior access facing the Rockville Bridge while the remainder will be accessed by interior entrances. Each guestroom will have its own A/C and heating controls and the public areas of the B@B will be central air conditioned. The place will be named 'The Bridgeview Bed and Breakfast' and should open sometime in the middle of this year. The owner will live on premises and a handyman and cleaning person have already been lined up. Breakfast will be served. Rates to be announced....The business has an ample sized parking lot owing to its prior use as a bait and tackle shop. A website should come on-line in a few months.....It will also be marketed to those needing rooms during Hershey and Carlisle events, and perhaps also to business travelers. The site will offer a central location for railfans to railfan South along the Port Road and Lurgan Branch, East on NS toward Allentown, or East toward Philadelphia on Amtrak, North on the Buffalo Lie or West on the Pittsburgh Line. It will also be in close proximity to Harrisburg and the Pennsylvania Dutch area for those looking to sightsee as well as railfan.

This is great news thanks for the heads up. Any idea if it will be up and running by Memorial Day?

Hard to say the exact timeframe.....Right now, trim is being installed throughout the interior...shower doors and bathroom doors still have to be put in, along with switchplates and light fixtures....Then, the little stuff like towel racks, and all the furnishings have to go in....and then all the supplies, towels, blankets, sheets, silverware and china for the kitchen have to be purchased....exterior work involves putting in the permanent supports for the front porch and then fabricating new railings for the existing deck and building the staircase and handicapped accessable ramp off the front porch.....So Keith is shooting for a general timeframe of anywhere from late April to sometime in July or August......Once he is ready to announce the Grand Opening, I'll pass it along here......He plans also to install wireless internet service throughout the building and may also install eternet cables for hardwired internet access......Somewhere down the road may possibly be a webcam installation facing Rockville Bridge and perhaps an ATCS display for guests to track trains....
