The LNE line that goes from Allentown Yard by the CNJ Bethlehem station north thru Bath and on to Stockton, does it just dead end? I traced the line on google maps and it seems to go a bit thru Stockton (just north of Easton), past where the E&N branch connected to it, then it goes thru some type of factory (must still be an active customer since cars are parked on a few spurs) then it goes a few more miles until dead ending in a farm field??? Did it always do this or did it connect at one time to another line?

It used to be a through route, connecting with the line from Martins Creek at Bath and the rest of the system at Benders.

The ex-LNE trackage extends about three miles east of Stockertown. The last on-line customer is the Dixie Cup plant at Uhler's Road grade crossing, which receives covered hoppers of plastic resin for their manufacturing. The track extends maybe 100 yards past the crossing to allow for switching movements into the Dixie Cup Siding.

There are several other on-line customers on the segment east of Stockertown, including Binney & Smith; manufacturers of Crayola Crayons. They get tank cars delivered to their siding, presumably parrifin.

At one time this line did extend to an interchange point with the PRR (Bel-Del) and the Lackawanna in Martin's Creek. Some of that now-abandoned roadbed is converted over to a walking path in Forks Township, PA.

Actually the last online customer is Strober-Haddonfield in Uhlers. They usually get a 3-4 cars of lumber per week. The line that ended in the field is the old LV E&N Branch which only goes for about 1000 feet or so before stopping behind Equipto in Tatamy...

Of course, the line is intact south out of Martin's Creek, too. It is only a few miles in the middle that is abandoned near Uhlers and over the high bridge.
