Today I was in the MTA museum store in Grand Central and I was leafing through a book about NYC subway cars. It mentions in several places that certain types of rolling stock received certain upgrades "after GOH."

What's GOH? Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.

GOH is short for General Overhaul.

That is where they basically strip down the car and replace as many components as they can. It can also be called a rebuilding or refurbishing.
