Does anyone know what year the New York Central used the calendar "Morning on the Mohawk"? I have an original of the picture from the that calendar, but don't know what year it was used.

"Morning on the Mohawk" by Walter L. Greene was used on the 1931 calendar.

Thank you for the information! Is there a reference that contains information on all the New York Central calendars?

Alvin Staufer’s book “Thoroughbreds” has full page prints of 16 calendar paintings prefaced with the following information:
"Starting on the next page and continuing to the end of this book are the NEW YORK CENTRAL CALENDAR PICTURES from 1922 to 1931 and 1942 to 1947. ALL IN FULL COLOR. The first six, 1922-1927, pre-date the Hudson-type locomotive but are presented here so we have the full set.
New York Central continued to issue calendars till 1954 with themes being diesels or passenger cars. Costs necessitated our not being able to use them but we would have liked to display the entire series. There were no calendar paintings from 1932 through 1941..
There will be a few blemishes and imperfections in these calendars and posters (in front of book), which are due to imperfect copy and not the fault of the lith-ographers, Staufer Litho Plate."

I purchased the same 16 print set in 8 1/2 by 11 format at the NYC Museum in Elkhart, IN about 10 years ago. They still list them on their website under PRINTS/POSTERS/DRAWINGS .

William Harnden was the artist for 1921 – 1924.
Walter Greene was the artist for 1925 –1931.
Leslie Ragan may have done all the ones from 1942 – 1954.

Just a clarification - NYC's calendar artist through 1924 was William Harnden Foster.
