Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad (WNYP) has appointed Carl Belke Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer last week. The appointment was announced by Eugene H Blabey II, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, following a regular meeting of the Board of Directors. Belke joined the WNYP earlier this year as Vice President-Engineering. His expanded duties will include operations management, budget, motive power and signals.

“In view of our recent major expansion, the Board felt it was prudent to consolidate these functions under a senior executive based at our new operations center at Olean,” Blabey said. On August 4, the WNYP added a 100-mile segment of former Norfolk Southern trackage to its existing lines. Marketing, and administrative support functions for the WNYP continue at Lakeville, New York under William D Burt, President.

Good Luck, Carl, on this new position!
