CP Rail through Voorheesville

Just recently bought a house in the Voorheesville, NY area. Through the village there are signs of days Past with D&H. Does CP Rail have any plans of using this line ( or path as most of the tracks are ripped up ) as a mainline into Canada? Or is there any plans maybe for a Historical rail line there. Just would be nice to see that diamond come to life again.

I believe the Albany Main (the track east of Voorheesville toward Albany) has been abandoned by CP. Do not hold your breath on this one.

It's not likely that the line will ever see another train. You'll probably get more detailed responses if you pose your question in the Delaware & Hudson Forum.

Why would they. The line from Delanson to Mohawk is more direct to both Canada and Guilford connections.

Are they still using the part of the old Albany Main Line west of the CSX Main?Down to the industrial park?

Nope D&H doesn't use it anymore through Voorheesville. Its basically a storage track for CSX.

Hi Dave; How does CPR (D&H) service the industrial park? And from where?

CSX train B765 works the industrial park at Guilderland Center. D&H doesn't get in there. The gate is locked on the D&H track into the industrial park.
