The Cartier 6 axle Alcos/MLWs are back in Cohocton, at least five of them. Two are sitting in Gang Mills and one still in Binghamton. It wasn't that long ago we were all speculating as to what they were doing there and what was going on with them, who owned them and whatever. After the brief time at NYS&W they are returning back to the B&H. Some to be readied for service again, but this time on the WNYP.
Is it news? Not really, but they are back. Three and maybe one more will see the WNYP, from the lot of 8 engines, these were purchased by Alco C leasing intended for use on WNYP. Cohocton looks like a Used ALCo Locomotive dealership with the various engine sizes sitting there.
What's going to happen to the rest? Who knows? Two ALCo C636 Demonstrators are part of the group and they are reported as beyond reasonable restoration, due to freeze damages.
