And the Russians have a dual-mode too.
Thouse are MU trains. Yes MU they can do, since the parts can be split up between married pairs or 3 ways. but a single locomotive is still not light enough. Anything they are doing diesel/electric in a single unit weither its overhead or 3rd rail is DC and NOT ac.

'TRAXX' is the title for the hole platform of different locomotive types.

After several types of different electrical engines Bombardier had built now a diesel-powered version.

Its the same frame, also the cab are identically, just the engine room is different.

Hmmm... I guess they want to forget about the Alco-based diesels they built when MLW went out of business...?

Probably since that wasn't something they built from the ground up correct?
