I've been looking into the McCloud River Railway in Northern CA and one site I came across said one of the steam engines is destined to be shipped to NV, while another one, #25 a 2-6-2, is still owned by the railroad, but it's an open question as to how much longer it will be. I'm not sure when or if it will be for sale anytime soon, but the question is would any rail museums in New England be interested in purchasing it if it were? Just thought I would toss the idea out there.

the site is here http://trainweb.org/mccloudrails/Miscel ... 006_5.html

Steam engines costs hundreds of thousands to purchase, move, fuel, and maintain... probably the reason no one else is writing a check either.
