Reference my post dated June 25: What Mark Twain said was "Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated".

Since this topic is being discussed in detail in 3 places, I will be locking this one. You can continue the discussion at:

Different aspects of this saga are being discussed on different forums.
I see no reason to lock this one, since many LV fans dont care about the NS forum.
I unlocked it.

Great numbers of people are jumping to conclusions on the topic. Another Valley unit, LV310, as mentioned else where, but of relevence here, has not been scrapped. The cab was removed in light of asbestos and and integrety issues. New cab will be built. Units are to recieve new cab and nose, air conditioning, -2 specs, AR10 alternators, and APU's.

NS5655 Prep for Rbld to GP38-2 JLS 7/06 (GP38 NS2881/CR7656/LV310)

And pleanty more where that came from, but obviously not all LV, if any. I haven't checked the full histories for the remaining units that are unassigned.

Information care of www.altoonaworks.info and checked against private sources. 100% positive.

The cabs are also replaced as the new units contatin the Dash2 electrical cabinet configuration. Saves hacking in a salvaged Dash2 cabinet.
