What type of Signalling system is used for the Miami Metrorail and Metromover?

  by Noel Weaver

Miami Metro-Rail runs with ATO with an operator at the head end to work
the doors. He/she can manually operate the train by use of cab signal
indications and enforced by a speed control system. Occasionally, they
are ordered to manually operate a train through a give stretch of
territory for one reason or another. The only signals are at switches or
junction points.
Metro-Mover is totally automated with no operate on the cars. everything
is controlled by computer from a central location. Although I have never
seen it done, I suspect that the Metro-Mover cars can be moved
independly in case of necessity. They have small traffic light style arrows
which light up yellow when a switch is line at some locations but no other
wayside signals
