I'm planning some trips for August, and I was hoping some folks could tell me what equipment runs on-

The Green Mountain Flyer - Bellows Falls

The White River Flyer - White River Jct.

The Champlain Flyer - Burlington

How about the Green Mountain Flyer? Sights to see? Good spots I should know about? Last time I was in Bellows Falls was ten years ago.

As of a couple weeks ago the White River Junction train was being covered by ex-Jersey Central heavyweight commuter coaches including a push-pull cab car, and the Burlington train by ex-Santa Fe stainless steel coaches.

Two shots of the White River Flyer passenger equipment I took back in July. Its usually stored right there in back of the station during the week.

Bellows Falls uses the RS-1 #405 and "older" passenger equipment.

I've never been on any VTRS/GMRC passenger train, though it is on my list. I've been told that the Bellows Falls to Rutland special in the fall is a good run to go on, because it covers the entire "branch". The Champlain Flyer is about 20 minutes away and I'm always down in White River, so I'll hit them all up eventually.

Have fun!

I'm interested in seeing the RS-1, what locomotive is used on the other operations?

Rode the Champlain Flyer on Saturday July 18. Power was Clarendon & Pittsford GP16 #802 "Jeddie A. Martin III".

WHen I rode the White River Jct. train a couple years ago it was an HLCX GP-38-2. Not your usual excusrion power.

In talking with the train crew in the cab car on the way north, they said that they just use whatever is assigned to White River Jct. for the WACR freight service during the week.
