A message that was forwarded to me from a Yahoo group stated that the TMSL connection with the NS in Towanda has been severed and that the railroad is no longer operating. Any truth to this, or is it an unfounded rumor?

Looking around the web, it seems that as of this summer, the TMSL was being realigned through Towanda to make way for a Route 6 bypass, including relocating the interchange. It sounds like a pretty low-frequency operation anyway, so maybe that's just a mistake.

I saw their locomotive in Towanda back in mid November and I think it was idling so presumably they are still connected to NS and running.

Its still there, they built a little more trackage in there and still get a few car loads a week.
