There are three FP40h's on the dead line at Derby. I think I remember them at NMJ. What is the story behind those, and where are they going, if they ever go anywhere?

The following are stored:
CDAC 455
CDAC 457
CDAC 461
CDAC 462 (Missing 645/AR-10)
MMA 226 (Burned AR-10)
MMA 247
MMA 260 (Missing 645/AR-10)
MMA 263 (Missing 645/AR-10)
MMA 273
MMA 320
MMA 339
MMA 345
MMA 383
MMA 391

Active/Recently Used:
CDAC 450
CDAC 451
CDAC 454
CDAC 458

These F-40's show as being MMA in the computer but are not on-line:
MMA 227
MMA 228
MMA 241
MMA 294
MMA 394

The 645/AR-10 sets have been shipped to Poland. These units are all owned by Rail-World Leasing. Other than the CDAC units before their overhaul, I don't think any of the others were stored at NMJ during the Iron Roads time frame from this list. 397, 266 come to mind as once being at NMJ.

I found some CDAC F40's in Joliet, IL, today. Here is a link to some photos. Can you folks shed some light on why they are at the former USS works?

The units are owned by Rail World Locomotive Leasing. The Joliet location is leased by Relco Locomotive Company and rented out for storage of units.

A recent photo of MMA226 has been posted:

and an earlier one in January:

But... as well as reports of ex-AMTK226 at Derby there have been reports of 226 on the Ohio Central, such as this 17 December 2005 Photo at OHCR West Lafayette OH
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... ?id=248517

Comparing the two which each other and other roster shots of 226, they do not seem to be the same unit - different fuel tanks and different positions of markings. Any ideas?
Has anyone been able to check the frame number of the 226 at Derby?

I just found out the following: The 226 used on the MMA is NOT ex-AMTK 226... It's ex-AMTK 216! Its spotting features are those of a modified Phase 1 (200-229) F40PH, and the only unit that ran on Amtrak with the same characteristics (angular fuel tank and maintenance stickers included) was the 216! The "real" 226 is on the OHCR.

They must have renumbered AMTK 216 to MMA 226 because MMA 216 is a 50' boxcar. :-D

Well... SLR has GP40 #3002 and 50' boxcar #3002--found this out when I photographed the latter!
