Howdy;

Today, as I'm driving past the former USS works in Joliet (collins street near the old prison) I notice something parked on the tracks, inside the fence. After trying some different angles, I've come up with photos of REAL - no cabbages here - F40PHs. These were painted/lettered for Amtrak and Canadian American (with front walkway). Also making appearances were an F40 painted for Amtrak but lettered for Ferromex, UPRR SD60 in faded paint, and some baby blue yard goat from back when. It's my guess that NRE ran out of space in Dixmoor and is storing units here, but that's only a guess.

Also, GBN, you may want to view these as an ex-MILW hand, I found a hardware store down the road using the MILW logo - picture featured.

RailWorld still owns 50+ F40s, some rebuilt for freight service, most still in passenger configuration.
