Erie Mining S12's 7247, 7248, and much of 7241 arrived in Camden on Q-417 on Wednesday and went to SMS at Bridgeport on CA-11 on Thursday. This is cross-posted from the Baldwin index.

I saw the train in Paulsboro.

(much of) 7241

7248 is a bit rusty

I photographed them again at the SMS interchange near Center Square Road.

How cool is that to see the old iron getting a new lease on life! I definitly need to get over to SMS yard and check them out.

Between these and the M&E's alcos purchased from Erie Mining, its seems quite a bit of their (Erie Mining's) roster now resides in NJ. Who would have ever thought that would happen?

Now all we need is someone in NJ to get the F-9s they had.....

One of their C420's is stored down on the SRNJ Winslow side of the operations and 2 other RS11's (seperate from the M&E purchase) went down to the W&W. All 3 units have private owners.

Are they in bad enough shape that they couldn't have been run dead-in-tow (excepting 7241, which I presume is for parts)? Looks like someone's got a lot of work ahead of them ...

"Nearly three delevered to SMS....." Would nearly three mean two? :-D
I would qualify that "piece" as another unit. The missing parts are sure to be around, somewhere. I heard a "rumor" that SMS will open a fabrication factory, and re-issue the Baldwin line of switchers, ala Indian Motorcycles "re-birth" of the late 90's. Just a rumor.............

"Nearly three" implies that 7247 and 7248 are two locomotives (although lacking trucks) and 7241 is nearly one more.
