181 leading a 10 Car Express alone

While Waiting for Amtrak 6 tonight I saw 181 lead a 10 Car Express into DG ALONE! It was late the train. Did this happen this morning or did something go bad between Then and Now?

Considering 14th Street changes locomotives on trains on a daily basis, 181 probably was on something else this morning. Tomorrow morning it should be on the same train.

Cab Cars were 8607 and 8598.

181 was probably on train #1251, the 4:44. That 10 car set also is used for trains 1204, 1205, and 1252 in the morning. Usually an MP36 gets assigned on that set.

Yesterday (10/20) I saw a single F40 on a CNW-NW train just after 5pm at Clybourn. BTW Clybourn between 5:15 and 5:40 is a great place to watch Metra scoot out of town - 2 lines, some trains are quite heavy. Also, 2 inbounds per line will make the occasional time when all four tracks are full.
