The railroad bridge over Old Orchard Road in Saco was struck by an over-height truck yesterday afternoon.

The bridge has a clearance of 11 feet, and the height of the truck was 11 feet and six inches. It got stuck under the bridge and was badly damaged.

A freight train and a passenger train both had to wait while Guilford's bridge people inspected the bridge for damage. Eventually the trains were allowed to cross the bridge, albeit at five miles per hour.
