Roger that...Happy Birthday to a great railroad!

Here in South Jersey, we still see more Conrail action than most of the rest of the system. It's still possible to find a solid Conrail lashup on a local...

While the photo below isn't a total Conrail lashup, it's still one of my favorite digital images at this time...

Take care.

every once and a while I will see a local come out of metuchen yard with a loco in the conrail colors, with csx markings of course.

I have always been a big fan of the can opener.

A pair of my favorites on the Southern Secondary, both now retired.

An oldie, now repainted in NS black & white.

A unit that has seen service with Conrail, NS, & CSX, photographed on what was said to be its final voyage to the scrap yard, but JJMDiMunno, chuchubob, several others, and myself would say otherwise after seeing it in circus train service.

An image that should never die.

CONRAIL Forever!

Have to agree with you all. Conrail still is one of my favorite railroads, rating right behind the good ol' CNJ. The previously mentioned Southern Secondary used to see a lot of Conrail engines.

Here are two Conrail engines from a few years ago when the SA35 would layover at Lakehurst.

Re: your photo of GP40-2 #4423 http://octrainguy.com/Mar2803-1.jpg:

I photographed her yesterday from a River LINE train in Pavonia Yard, Camden, coupled to 4428.

Bob, thanks for sharing the photos. Looks like another ride on NJT's River Line is in order to see the CSX SD45-2s while still wearing their Conrail paint!

With everyone wishing Conrail a happy birthday and showing their Conrail pics, I am surprised that no one has showed a picture of this unit.
