Regarding Elmont being closed today only - the new configuration of Queens now allows us to run the Belmont Race trains back and forth on ML 2 and 4, and put everyone else on ML 1 and 3. This allows continuous service without any one getting stuck waiting for a BRT to clear. They have to crawl coming in/out of the West Leg, so this is good if you can run the other trains around that mess. It's actually really sweet and will be useful for any big ticket events at Belmont/UBS Arena. They just need to shuffle who makes the local stops going east of Hall to QVG.

I had been doing real time tracking on RADAR and one observation is that the Grand Central to Belmont trains,
after discharging, reversed and deadheaded back to GCT for the next trip.

As for the post race westbound trains, here is the info from RADAR:

The actual departure time is x number minutes after the scheduled time.

7813 GCT Scheduled DP Belmont 6:50P -34 late
7815 NYP Scheduled DP Belmont 6:59P -36 late
7817 GCT Scheduled DP Belmont 7:07P -40 late
7819 NYP Scheduled DP Belmont 7:21P -35 late
7851 NYP Scheduled DP Belmont 7:49P -18 late
7853 NYP Scheduled DP Belmont 8:08P -13 late
7855 GCT Scheduled DP Belmont 8:15P -21 late
7857 NYP Scheduled DP Belmont 8:35P -15 late
7859 NYP Scheduled DP Belmont 8:59P -10 late
NYPEXTRA Scheduled DP Belmont 9:05P -22 late

7853 had a crush load of 1,045. Most other trains were 500-800 range.

If I’m not mistaking the new parking garage they’re building for the islanders parking is in the general vacancy of the former LIRR station.
So Much as changed there.
