Noticed quite a few lumber cars come in on NS 18G today. Possibly some of those will come down Tuesday.

Will attempt to get pictures of farmingdale to freehold. Phone has been giving me absolute hell the last few days over storage space

Todays train was actually 1 Extech, 8 Woodhaven, and 1 tank

There are reports of a brush fire near the Rt. 33 overpass and the Wall Twp. border. I'm not sure if this will affect railroad operations or not. If you're in the area, be alert for responding emergency apparatus.

Brush fire in Colts Neck/Earle, command instructing Mon. Cty. Central Response Dispatcher to relay to Conrail to hold all trains before the Rt 33 overpass.

But… C&D does the dispatching now…

That's sorta what I figured. Police and Fire don't know that. Conrail probably either redirected or relayed as well.

Well regardless I just drove past and I don’t see the train anywhere but I do see a lot of firetrucks. I don’t see a fire or smoke so it’s either out already or somewhere I can’t see it

Just drove past where the fire is/was. (Couldn’t see it) I don’t see the train anywhere so I’m guessing the fire kicked off after they left

Yesterday afternoon there were surveyors working at the Southard Ave. crossing.
Today they were working down Railroad Ave from the Marl Rd. crossing.
I got the impression it's railroad related. That's an impression, not a known.

@CharlieL The Yellowbrook Road crossing is completely marked out and the Southard markings extend to near Main Street. Could very well be for the railroad.

There is another RFP out there for a turnout at Southard Ave and 1100' track to existing Railroad Ave crossing. Work to be completed by 31 July, Both this RFP and the previous to be awarded to the same company.

I could not open the associated worksheet. I think things will be busy for the next 2-1/2 months.

That one has been on there for a while. So far the only thing done there is AT&T markings along the old PRR ROW from Railroad Ave to Southard Ave.
