Amtrak Board nominees make-up being contested

Senator Tester of Montana is objecting to the geographic representation among the Amtrak Board nominees.

Senator Tester brings up the point that only 4 of six were to be from NEC region. Nominees in process consist of 5 from NEC region and only one not [from Normal, IL]. No nominee from west of the Mississippi is on slate.

How about one from the SE? Prefer someone with NC RR - Piedmont train experience. might be able to get Crescent's arrival WASH for decent times to make board meetings?

Unless the Senator throws a hold on their confirmation, Amtrak is so far down the pecking order these people might not even have a committee hearing.
