The CMRR had its opening day for 2023 today with its Easter Bunny Express. Trains went to the new stop at MP 8 where the passengers detrained to search for Eggs. Everyone had a great time. EH

If you guys built the rail/trail with the path along side live track....I'll be there. A year or so before the virus, I was down in Pennsylvania riding the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. I got on the train, stowed the bike and rode it up to the drop off point and rode back into town. There is another drop off point waaay up further. Too far for me now. Cross my fingers and hope you get it done.

But live trains next to the path is the peak of perfection as far as I'm concerned. This picture is the LGRR. The path is to the right. Live train ahead! Not the excursion train either.

Here is my bike "stowed." If you guys follow through with this, I would like a better method of stowing the bike.

Sorry this and other pics are so small. I've had to resort to the "Old way" because this site is no longer accepting pics like before.

Back in February we rode the Lehigh Gorge Scenic as an add-on to the Reading, Blue Mountain and Northern round trip from Reading Outer Station to Jim Thorpe and back. Walkers, hikers and bikers are <right next to> the track at many points.

Any news on the requested railroad extension? Is there any other work happening on the railroad other then running trains? Not that running trains is not important of course...

It would be great to see an update...

Cold brook tracks are in place from MP 21.6 to MP 23.3. Station is at MP 22.1.

There is a washout at MP 23.3:

west of MP 23.3 the tracks are in place and are used by Rail Explorers up to Phoenicia.

The tracks from MP 10.01 to MP 21.6 were removed in 2018 for the creation of the Ashokan Rail Trail.
