Those engines will look better operating for C&D.
Isn't there a topic for the Raritan Central?
  by Bracdude181

No, but they run out of metuchen so I just post it here. RC-1 goes to metuchen to exchange with Conrail early in the morning. RC-2 goes there as needed sometimes.

Will look better? Is RC selling these two?

ME-2 is about to go drop off 9 cars for General Tire. Heard on the scanner.

ME-2 permission to open up at National Can and head west at 3:45 PM

ME-2 finishing up for the day. Shame the old Philly Division caboose has been desecrated.

Raritan Central is gonna be doing some track work soon. A ballast regulator was dropped off by truck today. Had a big rotating brush on the back of it…

Awesome photo! The most interesting (non-RR) thing about that caboose is that it has a vintage Kid "PK" tag on it. Kid PK were huge in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Nobody ever verified the identity of him/them (could have been two kids). If you want to go down an internet rabbit hole google "what ever happened to Kid PK graffiti artists." They were the NJ version of Banksy. Some say one of them died or went to jail but no one really knows for sure. Keep your eyes open. If you look closely, you'll see "PK" or "PK Kid" all over New Jersey, including railroad bridges and infrastructure.

Over there I see alot of GARZ markings. Friend says they are a gang, and not a very friendly one.

Would love to see the caboose get fixed up.

PK must been New Jersey's own REVS.
  by Bracdude181

REVS? Sounds familiar.

There’s a new one nowadays. TLWA. Supposedly they are a branch off of MS13…

That caboose is shot. Best cut it up and be done with it. BTW, some of that graffiti was done by railroaders. There's quite a few "artists" out there on the rails.

No one would take it for preservation? If it were to be removed from service what would replace it? One of CSAOs regular shoving platforms?
  by AceMacSD

Not every piece of railroad equipment will be preserved. This caboose belongs in the junk pile. Spinning the work off to another operator with better equipment would make better sense to CR. Just saying...

It could be beneficial to customers on the NEC, but besides Raritan Central, who would take over from ME-2? And what would they need to do to get the ok from Amtrak to run between LINCOLN and MIDWAY?
  by AceMacSD

Amtrak wouldn't trust the RC to operate over their tracks.
