With all the attention given to the East Side and Third Track projects, it's easy to overlook some smaller thing going on. Here's a line from an email I just got:
Starting today and continuing thru Fri. 11/18, the 5:29pm train from Penn Station to Great Neck is canceled to support work on the new Great Neck Pocket Track.

Pocket track is being extended, with new switches installed. All signals in Neck Interlocking as well as Port Washington will be RAS (Reduced Aspect Signals).

The pocket track begins just east of Great Neck and extends to (just west of) the Manhasset viaduct at East Shore Rd.

AC - since you are the OP: There is Saturday-Sunday track work outages on the Port Washington Branch between
Bayside and Port Washington for three weekends - November 5-6; 12-13 and 19-20 with alternate bus service.
This is primarily to support the Great Neck track work - PW timetable effective November 5 to 20, 2022
