B&OCT inherited some commuter trains at the time B&O formed it, but most, if not all, were gone by WWI. C&EI, Erie and Monon all used the Chicago & Western Indiana between Dearborn Station and their home rails, so commuter service by those railroads was limited to stops by locals destined to points outside commuter territory. C&WI itself ran a small commuter service between Dearborn Station and Dolton until 1963.
