Trains on SEPTA's Trenton line, which runs through Lower Bucks County, are operating on a modified schedule Thursday due to a train derailment Wednesday.

The four-car train that derailed had just left the Trenton Transportation Center heading to Center City Philadelphia at about 11 a.m. It was traveling at about 25 miles per hour and was still on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. About 25 people were on board. SEPTA reported no serious injuries among passengers or crew.
Anyone know what exactly happened?

The Center City-bound train that derailed at about 11 AM on Wednesday 9/28 looks to have "picked the switch"
from Track 5 leaving TRE - taking note to the location of the River Line ROW adjacent to the derailed S4 cars.
The slow speed is the usual manuver entering or exiting Track 5 at TRE...There are photos showing inspection
of the switch in question after the equipment had been re-railed and moved for storage...The trouble was that
the SEPTA train was blocking two of four main NEC tracks through TRE for that time period...The BCCT news
article had the frequency of SEPTA Trenton Line train service wrong - There is NOT half-hourly service mid-day
to and from TRE - hourly is the norm on the route during daytime non-rush hours...

It sounds like a problem with the switch. Is that correct?

I'm having trouble figuring how a train could pick a switch in the trailing direction; and since nobody got hurt we'll probably never see the final report ...
