While riding my bike and returning a couple of books, I noticed this book and thought to pass it on in case anybody needs a refresher :-D

Was the date on the book 1978?

Even though the caboose at the end of a train has been out of its intended use for the most part for 40 years, the word is used to refer to "bringing up the rear".

Dang! It never dawned on me to check the copyright date. The condition of the book seems brand new. Not a scratch. It’ll be a while before I get back there and the book will likely be gone.

I just googled the book....copyright is October 1, 1978

Authors of such books rarely do any research.

I'm half surprised there was even an American prototype steam locomotive pictured. Of course, by 1978, steam was as rare as hen's teeth, especially on freights.
