LA&L to purchase the Ontario Midland

The LA&L is purchasing a 55% controlling interest in the Ontario Midland Railroad for an undisclosed sum. The transaction is expected to close on August 13, 2022.

I'm naturally biased, but LAL is a well-run bunch of guys and this should be very cool. Eager to see how it goes. Good luck to all.

It's a long time ago and the cast of characters has changed, but when LA&L gained control of Ontario Central, they did not come in with guns blazing and flags flying. Generally speaking, things continued on an even keel but with more backup and help for the company.

I'm not convinced there will be any radical changes at OMID either. I have no info from either company, but OMID now seems to be doing a fine job or providing service and maintaining the property. LA&L's involvement will probably provide some depth, both in resources and finances, which can't hurt. I'm not expecting anything drastic, either for the better or the worse.
