1065 Auxiliary generator failure last night on 837(11), rescued by 839(11) and double drafted in from Pawtucket this morning on 808(12). It will need to be changed out. Another problem with a newly arrived "repaint"

1065 went north on 1/12's switcher.

Why don’t they just truck them back to us since the freight railroads always keeps screwing up which way the f40’s go. That’s the thing I hate about relying on other railroads to get our equipment back to where it needs to be. You never know which way they send the f40’s.

Freight Rail is way more efficient than trucking and I really can't see why it would make sense to truck any railroad car or locomotive when you can deliver it by rail, nevermind the fact that an F40 would be an insane load for any truck, most might not even be able to pull it off

With trucking the locomotives there's weight/clearance issues that may be ran into that can be avoided by just running them on tracks using freight rail avoid. Yes there can be these delays but eventually they do arrive back on MBTA property.

The 1026 got set out at Rochester, N.Y. last night off Q560. Unknown reason. Could be air issues due to the cold as they were working the
yard around 1AM.

CTDOT did a full rebuild with highly detailed requirements, of some locomotives a couple years ago. How is the MBTA's program doing vis. CTDOTs'? My understanding is a rebuild is more than fixing everything that is broken, it is improving the reliability by replacing/repairing anything that is likely to break in the future so that breakdowns are not random

A rebuild is completely taking the locos apart and putting it together with all new components and the fresh coat of a new shell. I think you all know by now what components I’m talking about.
