The Legislature may have approved the study, but the Auburn City Council refused to put up their $10,000 share so there's some regrouping going on.

Granted my time in Maine has been limited but these folks need to get real. What traffic? Who is going to ride it? Champlain Flyer Part 2....

AFAIK, the commuter rail vision touted by Maine Rail Group is that there is believed to be a viable market for LA->Portland commuter rail. From public comments I've heard, a vision for development opportunities in the area of the stations is part of that.

Another city - I can't recall if it was Portland or Lewiston - put up Auburn's share in addition to their own, so presumably the study will be underway if it is not already.

IMHO Lewiston should get a stop, but no soup for Auburn unless they put some skin in the game!
