What would the equivalent MD purple line look like for Septa?

I have carried roller luggage on a LRV/trolley vehicle before in Europe. It is possible to do so. Minneapolis has a LRV serving the airport along with Salt Lake City. So to answer your question. Yes but both the 102 and NHSL needs new vehicles.

True; it's easy to forget that lots of people go to the airport and back every day, and not to catch a plane. And many business travelers are on a one-day out-and-back trip and may be carrying nothing but a briefcase and a laptop. In any case, many airport rail services sacrifice a little onboard space for luggage. Connections with the 102 at 69th St. and Drexel Hill Jct. would open up a lot of the western suburbs to the airport without going through Center City.
