Whatever happened to the Silverliner VI? Is that the name for the bilevel CRRC coaches, the Bi-level EMUs being discussed here, a new single-level design based on the Silverliner V, or amfleets converted into Metroliner EMUS??? (The last one is a joke. :P )

The Multi Level Coaches have been delayed for a long time and was supposed to come this year but they're coming next year in 2022 and from a article in june or july states that CRRC will be building the coaches this year and seems that haven't started on the rest of the fleet this whole time

Also I talked to a septa worker on instagram about the Silverliner 6/Multi level EMU and he said that septa is not buying that cause that would require millions of dollars to spent on redoing all the tunnels especially university city tunnel that dumps into 30th street station and the suburban to jefferson southern limit curve

They would not need to do anything to the tunnels because the the multilevel EMU's, whatever they end up being, fit within the same clearance envelopes as the multilevel push-pull coaches currently on order. Weight might be more of a concern, however.

Not sure how I missed the notification for this one, but oh well. Anyway, no, Silverliner VI is NOT the tack-on option SEPTA has on the back of the NJT Bombardier order. The option is there, but SEPTA has no obligation to use it, either. As of now, regarding Silverliner VI, literally anything still goes at this time... and funding is not yet identified for an order.

Is this for express service only? Would make sense for it. Hopefully the silverliner VI will not be a double decker but some emu with closed gangways. Like European trains

Unpopular opinion but it's time to move on from the stainless steel look. That livery just seems dated.

Two prototype Double Decker coaches will be here in July this year and it seems that shells are ready to be shipped to Boston but will be at Newark or New York Ports for a truck to take it to CRRC for final assembly and then more will come through this year and last ones in Fall of 2023
