A former Pullman 13-Bedroom Sleeper is at risk of being scrapped at the former ITM site in Noblesville, Indiana. "Philadelphia County" was built by Pullman Standard in Spring of 1938 for the 1938 Broadway Limited. Later on it was sold to the PRR to become car #8007, being retired in 1968 and then donated (either to ITM or someone else. Either way, it ended up at ITM). This GoFundMe needs to raise $2,000 by October 1st or the City of Noblesville will scrap the car. Help save one of the last Prewar Bedroom Sleepers of the original 1938 Streamlined Broadway Limited!

There's likely good reason that people with deeper pockets didn't save this car at the fire sale... you might want to ask in the ITM Discussion Group on Facebook.

Lets say you've raised that $2K.

Then what's the plan?...

Now you need another $10K to get two cranes and a specialized heavy haul flatbed to move it from the site, because there's no rail connection to the ITM site.

Then what? Where do you move it? Mileage ain't cheap for that heavy haul truck needing permits and a guide car...

It's not $2K. You need closer to $20-40K not including a place to store and protect it.

Good luck.

Man, I've seen this same sad script before; small group raises money to just barely save an old car/locomotive of barely any historical significance, then runs out of money, and 5 years later the axe finally falls anyway. Sorry, but unless you've got somebody with deep pockets who just has to save this particular car, it's probably hopeless.
