0245-0447/09-22-2021 was notable for more than just the autumnal equinox. The first PAR/S reception came at 0258 when D-3 asked Q426 what time they arrived at Ayer, next asking if they'd said 0130 and then thanking them. 0310 was when D-3 answered POED, rogering whatever they said, and 0315 would be the start -- for me at least -- of Yard Channel garbles that would be an intermittent constant throughout the trip.
0317 would show the 333 WLs at Stop, a WB going through -- slurries among them -- so probably the POED of 0310. Over at 334, the ELs were at Stop and the 1 stagger at a double green, the WB not dropping it until 0320, probably a mix of curvature, train length, and wet rail.
The Clear on the 335 1 EL got dropped at 0325, KCIR 7609, NewBlue 7518, and KCIR 7517 now getting their train closer to MAS. The car count got interrupted at 0329 when D-3 reached out to POED, asking them to make sure when they got to 346 that the switch was lined 1 to Single, adding that they'd need a 241. The marker got west at 0331 with a mix of NS gons and flats, company gons and stone hoppers, Brand X gons, branded and plain-wrapper centerbeams, the slurries, a coupla covered hoppers and placarded tanks, and lotsa boxes that included a few Smurfs.
While we were both WB up Da Hill, POED reached out to D-3 at 0338, naught further to be heard by me.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, and the yard had racks east on the 2 that turned into general by Royal Steam Heater, but didn't get much further than the ambulance company. There was also general on the easterly portion of 4. I got EB, and -- no surprise -- the 345 ELs were dark at 0346.
At 0350, somebody other than D-3 called out to the 5972, hash next happening. 3 later, the 333 WLs were at Stop, naught visible or audible E or W, the haze/mist being a good propagator of light. Further east and in back of Fitchburg Warehouse on State Road, it looked like there were stationary number boards, but not FI-2's, as will be seen.
The 330.8 WBs showed a Clear for 1 and a Stop for 2, the 330 ELs and WLs and the GL WLs all at Stop, despite no visible shunting sources.
The FG WLs were dark, and at 0412, dark, solo, and west-facing NewBlue 5958 sat on West Side. Keep reading for more about FI-2.
Among the ongoing Yard Channel hash was a clear "AY-4" at 0417. Dunno if to, from, or about. At 0418, the EB staggers for Derby were dark, a company hopper still on the RVJ stub.
The Yard Channel hash continued, 0426 presenting a clear "Q426." again dunno if to, from, or about. That would be my last 426 reception of the trip. 2 later, D-3 answered AY-3, confirming that the wanted a cab for 0515 at the Pine Tree and advising he'd take care of it.
0440 was the start of an extended D-3 convo with -- as promised -- FI-2. He said he was checking on how they were making out, asking after a pause how many they'd spotted, next asking if they'd finish up and be in the clear by 0700, rogering whatever they said. There was further discussion about a missing unit -- possibly their original leader the 6952 -- and whether it was at Wagon Wheel, all focusing on the need to be clear of the main by 0700 for ongoing track work. Just guessing that the FI-2 crew had been repurposed to ED-8. Dunno further development cuz I stopped listening at 0447.

0240-0440/09-24-2021 started at the start with somebody's Yard Channel car countdowns. Yard Channel activity would be intermittent and frequent, clarity being intermittent and infrequent, the next being mebbe-POAY with a "12" at 0300.
At 0308, D-3 would reach out to ED-8, advising that the Ayer freight and trash were to go to the 2 by FG and they were to back to their racks or try to get them back to their racks before the first commuter. ED-8 with NS 6957 garbled back, except for "an hour itself," D-3 responding with a request to stand by and that he'd get back to them. Further discussions included plans being changed and to pull down to Fitchburg, cut the racks off at GL, and then pull to FG, getting back to the racks before the passenger. The freight and trash was to be east and clear of FG. There was more, but garbled. There must have also been an additional change in plans -- as will be seen -- that never got clear of my speaker.
At 0313, the 333 WLs were at Stop, naught visible or audible E or W, and at 0317, D-3 would answer ED-8, roger what they said, and roger what they next said. At 334, all signals were at Stop, and MT racks were on the #1 and a bit east.
Over at 335, the ELs and WLs were at Stop with more racks on the State Road/Rte. 2A UGB. NS 6954 was the leader of a presumed ED-9 that was in the midst of a decrew, headlights being in the 335 lot and the 333 WLs still being at Stop at 0351 with no EB arrival.
While partway up Da Hill and at 0323 would come "FI-2, take it ahead." 0328 produced "POAY, 1 more" and then "POAY, far enough."
Up Da Hill, the 345 ELs and WLs would be at Stop, loaded racks on the 2 from the westerly end of Chair City Oil changing into general on the Timpany Boulevard UGB and however far west. The yard appeared to be MT. If you haven't already seen it, the 09-23 atholrail/newpylong posts on "EDAY/AYED" might be informative. Guessing that the 09-24 ED-8 dropped the P&Ws on the main to save time.
When I got EB, D-3 would answer AY-3 at 0342, roger what they said, and OK them on signal indication. Dispatcher-side would hash at 0344 when I was a bit west of the crest on Rte. 2 EB, 0347 being when somebody told somebody else that that was far enough.
As mentioned, the 333 WLs were at Stop at 0351, and a couple later somebody told somebody else that the Freight Main derail was lined and locked. ED-8? FI-2? Somebody else? Dunno.
Further east, the 330.8 WBs and 330 ELs and WLs were at Stop, so ED-8 had gotten east. The GL WLs and FG WLs were at Stop, racks on the 2 from just west of the Credit Union, but not far enough west to shunt the 330 ELs.
At 0406, NewBlue 5958 was dark, solo, and west-facing in the FI-1/2 parking spot. 3 later would come "POAY, got a hitch," and 3 more later, the EB staggers for Derby were dark, a company hopper still on the RVJ stub. Dunno where ED-8's power mighta been unless the east end of East Side or West Side.
With both AYPO and ED-8 as future occupants of the Freight Main east of the Willows, there had been no discussion about trackwork starting at 0700. Mebbe they're done with it or mebbe the deluge forecast for 09-24 put things on hold.
The intermittent and unclear Yard Channel receptions would continue until 0440.
You know those frequently mentioned in other reports, and you know those not mentioned in this report. That's only cuz there was naught clear to, from, or about them.

0250-0440/09-27-2021 was a quiet trip, silence broken only at 0314 by some hashed Yard Channel car countdowns. Yes, there had been some pre-0100 crossing noises heard from inside my home at the right interval and intensities to suggest Q426, but naught IDable would be heard to, from, or about Q426/7 or POAY/AYPO, either.
Silence mode would be in effect before and after the the 0320 observation of dark 333 WLs, the usual displays in the usual sequence to follow.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark. There would be some hash that seemed to be public safety encroachments, and the yard was pretty much full, some SSEX gons on the Extension at the east and then more general -- mostly CRYO-TRANSes -- up to the westerly FP. The gaps gave a view of racks and some general on 2 and more racks on 4, those on 2 not giving any internal reflections.
The EB trip started off and continued in radio silence, the 333 WLs dark at 0350, as would be the 330.8 WBs, the 330 WLs and ELs, Stops being on the GL WLs.
The FG WLs were also dark, and at 0402, D-3 reached out to FI-3 -- yes, three -- and not getting a response, switched to AY-3, asking them to try to contact FI-3, adding that they were working at San-Vel and that he'd have AY-3's cab for 0500 at the Pine Tree, some hash about Freight Main to follow.
At 0405, the FI-1/2 parking spot was MT, and 2 later, D-3 answered a breaking-to-me FI-3, asking if they'd spotted anything on 3 and 4, saying the Chief had said those tracks would be OOS for work. There was more, but -- again -- hashed.
The interesting part of the receptions was that I was in prime ZombieZone, but the receptions were generally strong. Dunno if some radio work had been done or if it was just post-equinox atmospherics. Also dunno if if FI-3 had contributed to the Gardner full yard or if some or all were WBs that might end up stacked behind the ED-9 discussed in atholrail's 2030/09-26 EDAY/AYED post. So CPF-346 to CPF-370 is the new Single?
At 0411, the EB staggers for Derby were dark, a company hopper still on the RVJ stub.
Intermittent hashing from Bostons East and West started at 0421 and would continue until the 0440 end of listening. Evidently, they've gone to tone keying, so your scanner isn't producing a low-battery alert. Unless it is.

0240-0442/09-29-2021 was a spell when The Deity Of Randomness was in full Loki Mode. When I was getting into my car, there was crossing noise on the far side of the Wachusett Reservoir. Given that there had been earlier crossing noises heard, it was probably from Q426, but naught IDable would be heard to, from. or about those guys, although 0240 Yard Channel garbles would clear up into "POAY, good for 40." POAY would be a long-term presence, but never morphing into AYPO during the listening period.
At 0245, D-3 answered, rogered, and thanked the EGT, much more about whom to follow. Yard Channel garbles would return for a bit, and at 0245, D-3 would call out x3 to BO-2 with the NS 6945, a crew and power ID to be remembered.
At 0312, the 333 WLs were at Stop, dark NSs 6957, 9822, and 4022 -- still in fancy conversion paint -- on 1, followed by unplacarded tanks which turned into racks at the all-Stops 334s and west. The 335 ELs and WLs were at Stop, no marker visible from the 335 lot.
Occasional Yard Channel garble would be there, and at 0325, ED-8 with NS 6957 garbled to D-3, D-3 acknowledging the new crew on board and advising he'd let them know when he could take them east.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, and in the yard, except for the 1 being MT, 2 and 4 were carbon copies of the 09-27 viewing, meaning at least the 3rd day of racks, CRYO-TRANSes, and others not getting back for their next loads
While I was still east of the Rte. 2 EB crest, there was some Dispatcher-side garble, followed by Yard Channel garble.
0344 was when the 333 WLs were still at Stop, ED-8 apparently still not having gotten the OK east.
Further east, the 330.8 WBs were dark, and at 0350, "POAY" emerged from hash. The 330 WLs and ELs were dark and the GL WLs at Stop.
At 0354, the EGT reached out to D-3 about an engine on West Side that was blocking their access to the yard, that engine turning out to be -- you guessed it -- NewBlue 5958. The FG WLs were at Stop, KCIR 7595 and an illegible trailer a bit east of the Bemis Road UGB. To add to complexities and condense the report, they had 52 or so cars, there was a brake qualification issue, the Chief got indirectly involved, they were actually AY-3 and good to 0600. The C would have to walk back 52 cars and then watch over the shove that was wanted, D-3 even wondering about where FI-2 was. The Chief's next relayed instructions were to start the move, someone else to finish it. In the middle of this and at 0412, the RVJ yard was active, so there was no view of the EB staggers for Derby to the company hopper status.
At 0418, D-3 answered somebody calling him, rogered, and then said a cab was coming for them so they could finish yarding the EGT.
At 0420, POAY would get on the air with D-3 about a car on Track 10 from yesterday. BO? The car ID had to be repeated cuz D-3 said POAY's radio seemed to go in and out, POAY seconding that observation, and somebody next offering a NSFW characterizations about all radios.
Yard Channel garbles would continue, and at 0440 D-3 would again reach out to BO-2, changing it to ED-8 with the NS 6945, calling out x2, and then asking if they could run the power around to the west end cuz they wanted to wye the engines. BO-2 with the NS 6945 had been an early reception. ED-8 with the NS 6957 had been eyeballed at 333 at 0313, so had BO-2 been decrewed earlier from ED-8 to run BO-2? Dunno. Also dunno what mighta happened with 400 at FG. Also dunno when ED-8 would get east of 333.
As do yours, my head hurts.

0245-0440/10-01-2021 was less Loki-like than the similar slice of time on 09-29, mebbe cuz the totals for hours of service have gotten reset.
At 0250, a breaking D-3 OKd somebody on signal indication, then a minute later told AY-3 that he had said it was OK to take the signal at *garble* as soon as *more garble,* adding that he would keep in mind whatever they just added. A bit clearer, D-3 now switched to POAY. They were to go down 11, drop the Ayers on 6 with no pickups, and then head to Harvard Switch for the meet. As prolog, the crossing noises heard inside my house between 0120 and 0200 suggested a Worcester Main EB, but naught clear would be heard to, from, or about Q426/7. D-3 added that POAY should advise when they were ready to copy, rogering whatever they -- again -- added.
At 0302, D-3 called out to POAY with the 7635 with *garble* about the #2 at *also garble.* Mebbe a 241 cuz the readback got an "all correct."
At 0305, D-3 would again answer POAY, roger what they said and go into garble except for "complete stop." Mebbe PTC probs? Radio silence would now start.
At 0315, the 333 WLs were at Stop, a -- surprise -- dark WB sitting on 1 just E of the EL. The leader was NS 6957 with at least 1 more NS trailing. Too dark to see the car types. Over at 334, the ELs were at Stop and the 1 stagger dark, as would be the 335s.
Radio silence would be temporarily broken at 0329 by AMTK, and would resume.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark and the yard full, but with -- surprise -- a different set of cars from 09-29- and 09-27. The Extension and 1 had a mix that included MT centerbeams, 2 had a few general and a good number of MT racks, and 4 -- gaps permitting -- seemed to be general.johnpbarlow's 0650/09-30 post in PAN AM SOUTHERN/PATRIOT CORRIDOR DISCUSSION mentioned NSs ramp restrictions for Mechanicville/Ayer billings, but NS seems determined to keep autos and -- as will be seen later -- trash moving on rails between terminals.
From Gardner at 0339 came a westerly-antenna D-3 telling somebody something about the Deerfield Utility and help with the marker.
EB at 0343 was when D-3 told AY-3 that when they headed back to the yard they should head for 11 and that AY-4 would take the engine off them. Dunno if AY-4's power was poorly or if AY-4 would need extra power. 0346 would produce a POAY car countdown and then garble.
At 0350, the 333 WLs showed a Medium Clear for the Controlled Siding-- 400 still in the future -- and the NS 6957 and followers still in place. Further east, the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and ELs were dark, the GL WLs at Stop, and the FG WL dark.
At 0405, dark, solo, and west-facing NewBlue 5958 was in the FI-1/2 parking spot, and 6 later, a company hopper was still on the RVJ stub, the EB staggers for Derby showing a Clear for 1 and Stop for 2, no marker visible, but more to follow.
At 0422, there would be a "4 more, "4 to go," and then in bit "POAY, far enough.
0426 would be when D-3 told ED-8 they were OK after 400 passed. He'd give them the light and they could set off the trash. ED-8 was probably the source of the Stop on the 2 EB stagger for Derby, and they certainly got further east earlier than they had on 09-29.
Only a few spurts of unIDable static would fill out the rest of the trip.
 #1581746  by jaymac

0250-0500/10-04-2021 was a trip in which the signal/noise ratio tilted more towards noise cuzza the noise of rain --especially at road speed -- tilted that balance.
First and OT -- is suspension of new posts for 72+/- hours a sign of solidarity for a recent ED-9's suspension of movement at Tyters?
At 0251 somebody told somebody else that that was far enough. Meaningful sounds would resume at 0308 when D-3 answered ED-9, roger what they said and add that he got all but the last thing. There would be more -- but now broken -- discussion about the #2, doubling down, FG, and the regular passenger train. After that and at least for me, radio silence would go into effect.
At 0325, the 333 WLs were at Stop, dark NS 6953 and KCIRs 7835 and 7655 having done just that on the 1, DS trash to the west. Over at the all-Stops 334s, the car species was now racks, and at the also all-Stops 335 ELs and WLs, there was no marker visible from the lot. Guessing an ED-8.
0338 would offer some Yard Channel garbles, and at 0342, D-3 would give permission to FI-2 with the 5958 to reverse direction from where they stood and proceed west tp CPF-AY. D-3 would next ask if they'd return light power to Fitchburg and then whether East Side or West Side would be the choice, rogering the response.
Up Da Hill, the 345 ELs and WLs were at Stop, general on the #1 at the Timpany Boulevard UGB and the marker by the gap between the MART garage and Chair City Oil. The yard was pretty much full, 1 with MT racks, 2 -- at least east -- ditto, and general on the 4. A trip west was undertaken, but at 0354, the 346.6 came on, so I headed back east to a more favorable point of view, one which showed the #1 now MT and the 345 ELs go from Stops to dark. There was heard neither a 346.6 report nor acknowledgment, but guessing that it was a POED, given that there were some slurries in the mix.
Radio silence continued EB, the 333 WLs with a Medium Clear for the Controlled Siding and the presumed ED-8 still in place.
Further east, the 330.8 WBs were dark, ditto fro the 330 WLs and ELs. The GL Controlled Siding changed up from Medium Approach to Medium Clear, probably cuzza FI-2 getting off the Main, the FG WLs dark and NewBlue 5958 dark, solo, and facing west on West Side at 0427.
At 0430, there would be some breaking ED-9 car countdowns, and at 0432, the EB staggers for Derby showed an Approach Limited for 1 and Stop for 2, no headlight or marker visible to the east, but mebbe a longish ED-9 was working to the east.
At 0434, it sounded like the 400's E was telling the C about car marker issues, and at 0435, mebbe it was ED-9's E telling the C that he was going to let it charge up for a bit. There would be more ED-9 hash at 0442.
At 0448, D-3 answered Q427 with CSXT 5254fulfilling 426's Form D G314 at 0449 and issuing Form D G301 to CSXT31285 for X25 to Burncoat, time effective 0450. The update would be requested as would be the time into DCS, a 0457 D-3 answer to Q427 producing a roger and thank you, silence for the reaming 3 of the listening period.

0240-0445/10-06-2021 started off with some Road-side hash that included "pump up here," but dunno the who and where were.
The IDable hash would be non-company until some more Dispatcher-side hash, ditto at 0307.
At 0313, the 333 WLs were dark, and the 334 ELs would be at Stop, the 334 1 stagger and 335s would be dark, only a few spurts of hash to be heard on the way up to the all-Stops 345s, There were racks on the 2 at the Timpany Boulevard UGB however far west and east to the marker by the easterly Royal Steam Heater building. It looked like the yard had been cleared, and guess is that it was an ED-9.
There were more racks visible on the 2 at the Wilkins Road dogleg, and at 0338, the 346 WL was at Stop, and dark NS 69?? and however many trailers sat to the east.
The EB trip was quiet until 0347 when AY-3 with the 762? called out to D-3, my decrease in altitude producing an increase in AY-3's hash. Whatever they'd said got an OK on signal indication from D-3, and at 0348 AY-3 hashed something about CPF-AY, so possibly a restrictive signal indication.
At 0351, the 333 WLs were dark, but further east and OT, the rotary/Cleghorn Cumby's wasn't. All lights were on and there were cars by the building, but not at the ;umps, so dunno if they've reopened for the wee hours.
The 330.8 WBs were dark, and the the 330 1 WL showed a Slow Approach, the 2 WL's Stop echoed by 22K's marker just east of the Water Street OHB. The 330 ELs and GL WLs were at Stop. Over at the all-Stops FG WLs, dark NS 6959 and 2 trailers sat on the 2 just east of the Credit Union.
At 0410, the FI-1/2 parking spot was MT, and a minute later, D-3 called out to POAY, their response hashed. D-3 said that their freight and waters were to go to IM-3 and that their Barber pickups were on 10 and ??, hash again in effect. There was also a D-3 ? about whether they could clear AY in 14 minutes, guess cuzza 400, response unheard and unrepeated.
At 0416, a company hopper still sat on the RVJ stub and both EB staggers for Derby were at Approach. FI-2? Dunno -- heard naught to, from, or about. 0416 was also a broken POAY/D-3 convo about their having to come to a stop, D-3 giving a roger. PTC issues? Dunno again. With all the D-3/POAY back and forth, there was nothing to, from, or about Q426, though I'd heard crossing noise -- presumably X7.8 -- from inside my home at 0047.
The final 17 minutes featured only occasional static and hash.

Has there truly been naught other than Gardnerish items worthy of PAR/S note since 1805/09-30?

There seems to be issues with PTC stopping trains in the CPF AY and CPF WL area. I often hear trains get permission from D3 to "push the ?? button" because PTC won't let them move. On the subject of radio often I hear trains tell D3 they can't hear the dispatcher or he's too broken up to understand. Sometimes he switches to what I believe is the Mt. Uncanoonuc tower which is usually used primarily by D2. I wonder if there is a company rule on when to give up and take out the cell phone.

It does seem that no problems will get tended to until the STB makes its decision. This is almost like late Fink 1.0/early Fink 2.0.

OT, but may the true believers in and dedicated practitioners of PSR be assigned to a particularly warm spot in the inferno.

(Mods/Admins: Feel free to chop the "OT" entry for violation/s.)

0240-0450/10-08-2021 was busy, starting at 0241 when D-3 acknowledged TC T669 was clear of the Camp on the #2, but to hold on cuz there was a train going into the yard at CPF-AY.
At 0252, D-3 tried raising FI-2 with the 5958, answering them at 0252 and asking if they were coming back light-power, and then giving them permission to reverse direction from where they stood and proceed west to CPF-Derby.
Next would come the the start of an Additional Line 2 to TC T669 for CPF-AY to CPF-WL for a total of 3 Line 2s and 1 Line 3, time effective 0255, that to be followed by a 2-east-to2-at-CPF-AY 241.
At 0259, D-3 would answer Q426 and roger whatever they said. There'd been crossing noise for the X7.8 at 0114, so guessing it had something to do with the X25. To save suspense, naught further would be heard to, from, or about Q426/7.
At 0306, D-3 would answer FI-3 (three) and both sides would go into hash mode. Next and more clearly, D-3 would answer TC T669 and give the TC +1 a 241 for CPF-WL so they could proceed east to take off. The Foreman would next call that he/they was/were off the iron, and D-3 would fulfill Form D G302 at 0312 and ask about the return Form D. Mount Wachusett was now a factor, and the initial deets got garbled, but G303 -- time effective 0314 -- gave TC T669 +1 the #1 , the Line 3 being permission to pass Stop signals all the way to CPF-330.
0314 was also when the 333 WLs were at Stop, dark KCIRs 7595 and 7620 and NewBlue 3400 in compliance on the 1. There were slurries immediately behind, leading to the supposition of this being an EDPO. Over at the all-Stops 334s, the visible cars were now covered hoppers, but not far enough west to have a marker visible from the 335 lot, those ELs and WLs also being at Stop.
There would be D-3 hash at 0326, but radio silence would go into effect. Up Da Hill, the 345s would be at Stop, cars on the #2 from Chair City Oil, but not to the Timpany Boulevard UGB -- an unplacarded tank with bills in its easterly knuckle, 2 (two) loaded racks, and then general. 2 in the yard had Brand X gons, a goodly number of CRYO-TRANSes, and others blocked by the mebbe-left-by-the-presumed-EDPO-on-the-2. If there was aught on the 1 and 4, I couldn't see them.
The EB trip featured 0349 hash that broke radio silence, and at 0354, the 333 WLs were at Stop, the EB still there. A minute later, TC T669 called west and clear of Derby on the #1.
Further east and after a refueling stop (yes and OT, the rotary/Cleghorn Cumby's was open), the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and ELs were dark, the GL WLs at Stop.
There was a garbled D-3 241 at 0411, the FG WLs were dark, and at 0413, NewBlue 5859, was dark, solo, a west-facing in the FI-1/2 parking spot.
0418 was when a company hopper was on the TVJ stub and the EB staggers for Derby were both at Approach. Dunno if FI-3 or 22K might be holding at Slab City. A minute later, D-3 would reach out to TC T669, asking their location and rogering that they were west and clear of CPF-330. This reception sounded like D-3 mighta been using the Gardner antenna, cuz in another minute there'd be hash about 400 and the passenger station while I was in a location where the Paxton antenna is generally clear.
There'd be brief spurts of non-company receptions -- including Boston West at 0442 -- but at 0450, there came "3-step, AY," quite probably POAY from the east end of the yard.
Mebbe instead of "Gardner Gawking," this should be "Ayer Auditing."

0240-0432/10-11-2021 produced its share of puzzlements. Things were quiet until 0245 and some CSXT Boston Line hash, followed at 0253 by brief hashing on a Yard Channel, "a" cuz coulda been either PAR/S or PW. At 0300, D-3 would OK mebbe-AY-5 on signal indication. 0306 would produce PAR/S Yard Channel hash and also the beginning of radio silence.
At 0312, the 333 WLs were dark, the sequence of Stops for the 334 ELs and darkness for the 334 1 stagger and 335s in force.
Up Da Hill, the 345 ELs were at Stop and the 345 1 WL at Clear, The # 2 had a billed-knuckle INTERFOR centerbeam west of New Switch and the other general that included loaded rail carriers on the Timpany Boulevard UGB, The yard -- at least the easterly visible portion -- seemed MT. Since this is a repeat of 10-08, I'm guessing that the new plan -- for however long -- is to MT the yard well ahead of the PW Switcher so there's no problem for them spotting WBs by leaving their pickups on the #2. 0333 started a number of public safety encroachments, and I never heard the 346.6 come on while I was in range, so dunno what EB there might be for the 345 1 WL Clear.
At 0342, the 333 WLs were again dark, and 5 later, FI-2 reached out to D-3, wanting to go West Side to East. D-3 OKd on signal indication, adding a breaking something about ED-8 and cars shoved up to a signal. Further east, the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs were dark, and the GL WLs were at Stop, ditto for the 330 ELs cuzza FI-2 changing sides.
Further east the FG WLs were also at Stops, and at 0358, not only was the FI-1/2 parking spot MT, but FI-2 had also been no place where they could be seen.
At 0413, a company hopper was still on the RVJ stub, and Approaches were on the EB staggers for Derby, mebbe cuzza ED-8 being to the east.
The next 13 minutes were silent, 0426 being when D-3 reached out to Q427, D-3 breaking up in a normally clear area. It sounded like 426's Form D got fulfilled and then Form D G304 for X25 to Burncoat -- time effective 0428 -- to mebbe CSXT 3?17 got issued. D-3 had asked for the leader number again and then the length. By now, I was in an area that always had been clear, and D-3 was still breaking. Dunno if it was antenna selection or mist-related antenna problems.
0431 produced a strong AYPO reaching out to D-3 on Channel 2, D-3 not even producing hash. AYPO rogered whatever D-3 had said about pickups on the Thorofare and the 0500 recrew.
You know who's not been mentioned. That's only because there was not IDable to, from, or about.

0240-0445/10-13-2021 was -- in a word -- busy. 0242 presented an "8 to go," the rest of the car countdown fuzzed as I continued to move. As will be seen, there were multiple candidates. At 0246, D-3 answered, rogered, and thanked Q426. More followed in 2 when D-3 told 426 that POAY should be waiting for them in the yard. A minute later, D-3 advised POAY that 426 was on the Yard Channel trying to get ahold of them.
0254 would be the start some some D-3 breakage -- antenna shift? -- to TC 713's Foreman, "FG" being the sole other clarity.
A few garbles would get presented -- 0302 and 0306 for the Dispatcher side of Channel 1 and 0303 for Yard Channel -- but a clear Yard Channel "6 to go, ED-8" came at 0309.
At 0313, the 333 WLs were dark, the usuals -- Stops for the 334 ELs and darkness for the 334 1 stagger and 335s -- to follow, more D-3 breakage to TC 713 to follow that. 713 was off the rail at FG, so Form D G301 Line 4ing 33? to FG was cancelled at 0323.
At 0325, D-3 began a sometimes-broken convo with FI-2 about their PTC. D-3 relayed the Chief's permission to cut out the PTC at 0327, including a repetition in which the D-3 said the Chief had given permission to cut the seal to do the cut-out.
As earlier, the 345s ELs were at Stop and the 345 1 WL at Clear cuzza occupants on the 2. Dark NSs 6963, 8020, and 8028 sat across from the MART garage with general that included DS trash at the Timpany Boulevard UGB. Given that ED-8 was already east, guessing FI-3. Unlike the last 2 viewings, the 4 had general, but couldn't see anything on 1 or 2 in the yard.
At 0331, the 346.6 had come on, giving a no defects, 302 total axles, 48°, and 6978' at 0335. NSs 6952 +2 got 103 all-occupied well and table positions onto the Single at 0339. More about 22K will follow.
A bit into the EB leg of the trip, D-3 called out to ED-8 immediate further developments eaten by Yard Channel hash and Mount Wachusett getting in the way.
At 0350, the 333 WLs were dark, as would be the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and ELs. The GL WLs were at Stop, and at 0400, there was hash, only "POAY" and "7537" being clear. At 0401, D-3 served more hash to 22K, something about AY-4 having their backs being clear. Next came more Hash, "AYPO," "7565," "set off 5x29 Ayers," and "Republic double-stack trash" being relatively clear.
The FG WLs were at Stop, and D-3 now supplied his own hash involving the 4 trash west possibly preventing a pickup, 22K being at Fitchburg, and setting off 2 on Track 9.
At 0410, NewBlue 515 sat dark on the East Side, FI-2 apparently having gotten home. That was also when D-3 fulfilled Q426's Form D G328 to CSXT 885, 427's Form D G303 to CSXT 5500 for X25 to Burncoat being made effective at 0411 and D-3 asking for a repeat of something, then rogering with thanks.
0414 was the start of a both-sides audible D-3/22K convo, they to hold back at Slab City. Next, D-3 answered ED-8, garble to follow. At 0416, the EB staggers for Derby were at Clear, a passing 22K dropping the 2 at 0418. Yes, there still was a company hopper on the RVJ stub.
At 0422, D-3 reached out to ED-8, advising they'd tie down at Wagon Wheel, asking if they could get their car directions in order and what the cab time should be, next advising he'd get it lined up.
Things would -- at least for me -- go into Quiet Mode until ? called out to D-3 on Channel 2, naught further heard by 0450, so listening got ended.
AY-3? Dunno.

Edited for update, but not for brevity -- crossing noise for Temple Street/X7.8 0559 and Shrewsbury Street/ X6.0 0609.

0240-0445/10-15-2021 provided even more data points for a belated question: Should what had in pre-PAS days been called Going Real Slow now be rebranded as Poking Along Slow?
0240 had the X7.8 give a no defects and Q426 with CSXT 782 acknowledging same, more about 426 to follow.
0242 had D-3's side of a convo with AY-3. There were no recrew plans at this time, and they were to unload as much as they could, hinting the handling of CSXT LGT G103 posted about by johnpbarlow on 07340/10-13 was proceeding at a "deliberate" pace. There was more from AY-3 that D-3 rogered.
There was only occasional -- and mebbe not even PAR/S -- hash until 0301 when somebody told somebody else there were about 4 more.
In another couple, there started an initially broken D-3 reachout to TC T669, the Foreman the stronger of the 2 sides. Form D G302 -- time effective 0308 -- had a Line 2 from CPF-335 using the 2 and 1 to the EL of CPF-WL and a Line 3 to pass the Stop signals at the intervening interlockings, D-3 additionally asking for the T669 to call clear of FG.
At 0310, the 333 WLs were at Stop, the 1 to the west occupied by unpowered and unmarkered general. Over at the all-Stops 334s, there were loaded racks, making it seem that things were so clogged that the 1 between 335 and 333 had become the overflow for a clogged Fitchburg. The T669 got east and Clear of 334 at 0317.
Over at 335, the ELs and WLs were predictably at Stop, and naught was visible on 1 east of the State Road/Rte 2A UGB west of the curve.
Not even garble was the mode WB up Da Hill. The 345 ELs were at Stop and the 1 WL at Clear. The yard was MT, and on the 2 at the westerly end of the Timpany Boulevard UGB sat a DS trash with a marker. At 0341, the 346 WL was at Clear, dark NS 69?? down by the EL. There was continuing radio silence and no power noise to the west, so I got EB, radio silence being broken at 0358 by somebody -- possibly FI-2 -- getting the word to come on back.
At 0353, the 333 WLs were still at Stop, and with no EB recent arrival. At 0358, somebody close by -- again possibly, mebbe even probably, FI-2 -- said something about a hitch.
Further east, the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and ELs were dark, the GL Controlled Siding WL at Medium Approach. The FG WLs were at Stop, naught visible by the UGB.
At 0407, D-3 asked somebody if they were ready to copy, next giving a time-effective 0408 Additional Line 2 to 426's Form D G301. for MP X24 to MP X25. Hadn't heard the original G301, so mebbe 426 had been given just to X24 to allow headroom for somebody else.
Next came somebody telling somebody else they were 26 to a cut and clear for 40, this just before NewBlue 515 shoved covered hoppers east on East Side past the predictably MT FI-1/2 parking spot at at 0410. FI-2 receptions would continue until I got outta range, and at at 0415, activity in the RVJ lot precluded a view of both the EB staggers for Derby and the status of the stub's company hopper.
Radio silence ruled until D-3's acknowledgment of TC T669 being east and clear of CPF-AY on the 1 at 0429. Not so strangely, I never heard acknowledgment of the T669 calling clear of FG. Silence resumed, broken at 0439 with another D-3 answering of the T669, confirming they were off the iron and next fulfilling Form D G302 at 0440.
The next 5 were silent, save for 0445 garble, PW garble.
Given 426's Additional Line 2, there was probably at least 1 other presence at the east end of Hill Yard, but naught IDable reached my scanner's speaker.

0240-0440/10-18-2021 started off slow, 0247 PW hash and PVRR-frequency automated Morse being the first receptions.
At 0258, there was a both-sides broken D-3/ED-8 convo, the clarity being D-3's request to just let him know. As will be seen, another D-3/ED-8 exchange would close out listening.
0303 would produce Yard Channel hash, and 0309 would be the start of a D-3/TC T669 convo producing Form D G303 -- time effective 0314 -- with a Line 2 for 2-1-2 between CPF-335 and CPF-WL and a Line 3 for no trains or track cars ahead and permission to pass Stop signals at 335, 334, 330, FG, Derby, and Camp. Also requested was calling clear of Derby. Just after that, D-3 answered Q426, naught further to be heard. There had been crossing noises heard inside my home at 0127 and 0149, appropriate intervals for Temple and Prescott Streets.
At 0311, the 333 WLs had been dark, and the 334 ELs would be at Stop and the the 334 1 stagger and 335s dark. TC T669 and I passed probably somewhere between 334 and 335.
Radio silence would go into effect for me, and up Da Hill, the 345s would be at Stop, racks crawling WB on 2 over the Timpany Boulevard UGB and the marker coming to a stop by the Pratt yard. The yard was MT except for a solo rack on the Extension. Radio silence continued, and with the guess that there might be walking being done so that West Switch could be lined and the derail set even before paperwork got started, I started EB.
At 0330, D-3 answered and rogered FI-2, OKing them on signal indication. 0333 would be another D-3 call to ED-8, 0337 producing another, leading to breakage in which D-3 confirmed that ED-8 with NS 6958 was in the clear at San-Vel, the reason for which to emerge.
At 0343, the 333 WLs were dark, and a minute later there would be D-3 hash with "312" clear. Ditto the above.
Post refueling stop and at 0352, D-3 would 241 POAY with the 7534 from the Single West to 2 at 312. The 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and ELs were dark, the GL WLs at Stop.
For no obvious reasons, the FG WLs and FG 2 EL were at Stop, the 1 EL at Medium Approach. At 0401, D-3 had acknowledged that TC T669 was east and clear of Derby, and at 0403, dark and east-facing NewBlue 515 was sitting on the westerly end of shorties on East Side, hinting that Lafarge had been pulled.
0410 was when the EB staggers for Derby showed a Stop for 1 and an Approach for 2, a company hopper still on the RVJ stub.
0421 would be the D-3 side of a convo with AY-3 and the 7609, confirming they were lined and locked normal for movement on the #1, adding that a cab would be called and rogering whatever AY-3 then said.
0424 was when D-3 would give POAY their yarding instructions. The freight and waters were to go to IM-3, but cuzza their length, the power swap would have to happen first. There was more, but fuzzed.
0429 would be when D-3 answered TC T669, acknowledging he was east and clear of CPF-Camp, but advising he'd have to hold for a train pulling into the yard. Guessing anticipation of that was the reason CPF-AY hadn't been included in the Line 3 list.
At 0438, D-3 reached out to ED-8 x2, then giving them authority to enter the #2 and proceed east. Guessing a 241 for heading west might follow, but I headed inside.
Dunno what happened, but there -- except for reception glitches -- seemed to be a distinct lack of Lokiness during the listening period, despite all the moving pieces.

0240-0430/10-20-2021 was -- except for TC and AY-3 activity, some clear and some not -- generally quiet. At 0249, D-3 called TC????'s foul time at Derby clear, then at 0306 began a convo with TC1217, leading to the offer of an Additional Line 2 when ready to copy.
Mount Wachusett next became a factor, so dunno about the Additional Line 2, but at 0308 D-2 gave another TC a garbled something concerning CPF-297. A minute later came another D-2 garble, a 241 to POED, deets hashed.
At 0312, the 333 WLs were dark, and -- to the sounds of radio silence -- the sequence of Stops for the 334 ELs and darkness for the 334 1 stagger and 335s was in effect. Silence did get broken at 0315 with an unattributable Yard Channel "Far enough," but would resume.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, and from the Extension west to mebbe the easterly end of the Pratt yard, there were covered hoppers, tanks that included LPGs, a solo rack that emitted no internal reflections, coil cars and other general. 2 and 4 mebbe mighta had stuff, but the view was blocked. 0331 and later produced breaks in silence, but only cuzza public safety incursions.
At 0343, the 333 WLs were dark, as would be the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and ELs. The GL WLs were at Stop as would be the FG WLs, probably cuzza the unIDable TC stopped on 2 just east. Further east, yet another TC was pulling into the Engineering Facility at 0358 as NewBlue 7523 sat dark, solo, and west-facing on East Side, not the usual type of power for FI-1/2.
At 0309, D-3 called out to AY-3, giving the 7609 a 241 for 1 at CPF-AY east to 1. 0401+ would produce a number of Dispatcher-side garbles. At 0403 -- yes, the traffic signals were at their most favorable -- the RVJ lot was active, so there was no viewing of the EB staggers for Derby or a possible company hopper on the stub.
0407 would produce a both-sides-hashed Channel 1 convo involving CPF-Derby, and 0410 -- Mount Wachusett still being obstructionist -- would produce a broken 241 to a TC, mebbe for Derby or mebbe not.
0413 would produce Yard Channel garble, and 3 later, someone would call out to D-3 on Channel 2, response unheard and no surprise since D-3 generally doesn't propagate well on Channel 2.
At 0420, there would be Dispatcher-side garble, and at 0421 D-3 would answer the someone calling him, 3 later answering AY-3 and giving the 7609 permission to reverse direction from where they stood and proceed west at CPF-AY, next asking how many they'd be dropping on West Main Street, then telling them to keep on coming.
You know who hasn't been mentioned, and you know the boilerplate cause.
