They were rearmost on train 89(05) from Washington to Savannah.

I believe (but am not certain) these cars will be on train 90(10) from Savannah to Washington. This is due to the “Saturday’s, Sunday’s and holidays only” restriction on switching and parking private cars at Washington. This would allow them to depart WAS for CHI on either train 29(11) or 51(11).

Amtrak track geometry car 10002 "Corridor Clipper" made a trip from Jamaica to Montauk and return today (7/07/2021) in the consist of a LIRR inspection special train.

Amtrak 10002 was rearmost, properly pointed, on the westbound return trip, behind locomotives 401 and 409 (elephant style, uncommon for the modern era LIRR) and C3 coach 4055.

Yesterday afternoon in Mamaroneck at 2:26 PM I caught Amtrak Extra train #863 westbound from Boston, MA with P42 #46 ( CONNECTING AMERICA FOR 50 YEARS ) 9800 Metroliner Conference car, Viewliner Sleeper Santee River and 10001 headed to Philly. It went up this past Tuesday July 20 as extra 862.

Train 30(20) had 301 as the trailing unit. Saw it on the Elkhart railcam.

Private car “The Menzies Vista” ( former UP 9000 series dome lounge obs) will operate:

Train 80(07) from Charlotte to Washington

Train 89(08) from Washington to Savannah

This is a shakedown trip after work at the AC&W shop, in preparation for their participation in AAPRCO’s 2021 convention special train.

The "Greenwich Harbor" (PPCX 800709) and "Greenwich Estate" (PPCX 800738) went out of Hartford, CT on August 1 on Train 409 then last Saturday it went on Train 143 to DC on the rear end. Then later that day it went on Train 97 to Florida, on 8.13 it left Florida on train 98 which it arrived into DC this morning and came off.

Private cars NEW YORK CENTRAL 3, NORTHERN DREAMS and PROMONTORY POINT are now at Chicago Union Station (track 1) for this weekend’s events at the Pullman National Monument and Pullman State Historic site. They will be open for tours at Pullman on Saturday and Sunday.

Private car PACIFIC HOME is on train 51(03) from NYP to CHI. This move was scheduled for train 49(03), but has been re-routed because Metro North's Hudson Line is closed due to flooding damage from Ida.

Had it been on a day the Cardinal was unavailable, would it been routed via Pittsburgh?

BNSF 91 geometry car on back of Amtrak (I think it was Cascade or Empire builder) by sculpture park north of King St. Station. If you look closely, you can see what looks like graffiti that they tried to power wash by left window. Sad to see it on geometry car which you think would have tighter security measures.

That could have been an option (NYP-PGH-CHI via 43 and 29), provided the owner was willing to pay NS to switch the car at Pittsburgh. Last time I checked, that was $3200 payable to NS for the switch from 43 to 29, or from 30 to 42.

BNSF 91 looks a car the railroad acquired from the demise of the RBBX circus train. I’m wondering if those are air operated decelostats that I see on the ends of those axles?
