Geep Hunting

The 4109 was in service this evening at Newark Penn along with a PL42 and a string of single level cars on 5 track around 630p. Based on the schedule and time it would be train #5445.

That engine was brought out on the Raritan Line (ironically the first time the CNJ heritage Unit was on CNJ trackage since its repaint) to be set up for the retirement train for the last CNJ engineer on NJT (Frankie Palmeri) scheduled for today.

Does anyone have the list of the NJT units that are to rebuilt?

I just copied the name from a railfaner's video with footage of 4109.

In the meantime, here is Frank's last run on 4109 yesterday. Surprisingly, this was the first time 4109 has been in service on the Raritan Valley Line after becoming a CNJ heritage unit.

4201 and 4207 were on the Bergen County line as of 2 weeks ago. F40 4119 is on the PVL.

It's nice to see these engines still rolling. They remind me of those Hoboken summer nights when I first went railfanning each line in 2000-2001.

NJTransit 4109, their CNJ heritage locomotive is on Train 43 at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2021. NJT 4109 was built as CNJ 3677 and became Conrail 4106. It was renumbered to NJT 4109 after it was rebuilt by Conrail's Juniata Shops. Note: Headlight is dim and ditch lights are off because of the 1200 series train changing ends in Waldwick Yard.

NJT 4204 is on a westbound 1200 series train heading into the yard to change ends and head east at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2017.

NJT 4204 heads east on Train 1210 at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2021.

NJT 4216 is on Train 1149 at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2021

NJT 4204 is on Train 1309 at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2021

NJT 4208 is on Train 47 at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2021.

MNCR 4901 is on Train 1107 at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2021

MNCR 4905 is on Train 1207 at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2021

MNCR 4902 is on Train 1153 at Waldwick, NJ 7/30/2021
