This was a case of vandalism. Kids threw a switch and watched the New Haven freight run into the roll-up door. They were caught and a judge required them to sit in "the naughty corner". The date is the early 1960's, perhaps. Anyone know the location, date, and further details? Thanks.

The apartment building in the first image in upper left is 1360 Ocean Avenue.

Note the 2015 Streetview posted, the concrete bridge was being rebuilt and replaced with a modern overpass.

Great so this occurred at Ocean Ave overpass, South Midwood, Brooklyn and the view is west. What is the 2015 streetview reference?

Emery map at MP12 Ocean Ave Overpass, Bay Ridge Branch:

Emery Note 4: Location 7 ends under bridge in a shed & houses Motor Car & Tower Car, plus Crew Headquarters for wire gang after 1949. The bottom photo illustrates this. Thus, this was the switch vandalized.

It was a maintenance of way shed.

Would that be a car that allows work on the overhead catenary?
Yes.

Thus far: GE EL-C Electrics - Class EF-4 301-310 built 10/1956 known as "bricks". A photo of NH RR EF-4 electric locomotives # 306 & # 302 lead a manifest freight train c. mid 1960's (these seemed to be paired, perhaps!?)

History of #302: From N&W RR to NH 302, Class EF-4, in October 1963. Found a photo of NH 302 Photo Date: 3/14/1965 and later went as PC 4602, Class E-33, in 1969

Thus: Was #302 repaired OR the accident happened after this date of 3/14/1965!? (The mystery thus far)

The accident between Oct 1963 and 1969… Anyone with further details?

This is a little off-the-wall, but i think the answer as to the date may be in front of us.

How late did the NH operate D-102?

Info leads me to believe the crane in the pic was D-102 (D as in Derrick, not Diesel). Raillpictures dates seem to show D-100 operating until at least 1969, and it was basically a twin of -102.

I thought the juice jacks ran from 1964-1964? McGinness president of the NYNH&H de-energized the catenary as a cost saving measure and they ran diesels on Bayridge line during a portion of 1960's.
