*DE30AC with engine 418. CE Moves like this aren't too common and are pretty good to catch, often consisting of an MP15 towing/switching a DE or DM.

Yes
So is this move with the switcher due to there being no way to turn the engine at Greenport or Oyster Bay?
Likely the reason yes, but it can also be low on fuel or disabled.

Often times when making a move like this, they'll operate east from the DE, and west from the 1500

Thus, it would be NOT "...a Change of Engine Crew. These are normal moves.." Correct?

I think a few years back LIRR added a conductor to the CE( Change engine runs). If not mistaken the engineers ran these on solo missions to swap out engines. Let's say MP15's at Hicksville or a swap or grab a DM/DE in Port Jeff for years by themselves being dispatched with an engine.

If this was indeed heading Eastbound like the photo states, this is probably a CE (Change of Engines) in which a DE or DM would have to be swapped out on a passenger set for whatever reason. In this case Pinelawn is on the Ronkonkama/Greenport line, so I can put some insight on this. I rode the Scoot from Yahpank to Greeport on Monday, April 5th which was lead by DE30AC 421. The next day, I heard that 421 was having issues at Yahpank, so a rescue engine MP15AC 154 went out to tow the set back. I can only assume since I have not been back on the Greenport line since April 17th when 409 and 403 had taken the Scoot. So I assume 418 was sent out to KO (Ronkonkama) yard to push/pull the scoot for a short time until two DE's were utilized.

Hope this was helpful in some way! A.M
